Mortgage Brokers
Often, people confuse mortgage brokers with lenders. A mortgage broker offering loan products from different lenders, whilst a lender provides the actual loan money to the borrower. Being a mortgage broker is a loan provider that acts as a liaison between borrowers and lenders. A broker can work within a company or be independent.
A mortgage broker can not borrow money. On the contrary, he or she is working with borrowers, assisting them to find the right mortgage loans. Typically a mortgage broker will learn borrower needs and make the task of shopping for the best loan deal from lenders offering this special type of loan. Brokers usually work with a large number of lenders in an effort to get the right lender to fit each individual customer. Some brokers actually have hundreds of lender contacts. Because they have so many lenders to choose from, brokers are more likely to find loans for borrowers with special needs, such as credit problems, than individual lenders.
